i'm headed up to GA. this thurs. for 5 days.just wondering if anyone hunts around Wilkinson and Laurens county have any rut reports.usually week of Thanksgiving is prime time for us,but this year with the warm weather i wonder if the rut will be later?
Reading GON, it seems to be on fire in some places, gone in some, and not started in others. The next 2 weeks throughout the whole SE and midwest USA should be outstanding
My dad's lease is just east of there, in Jefferson County, near the Emanuel county line. He was up there 2 weeks ago and said the rut was kicking in. Bucks were sniffing and following, and necks getting swollen. They've killed over 17 deer since muzzle loader opened, several 8 and 6 points.
i would say about the same thing as Iluv2hunt. next week or 2 should be really active. just keep in mind it has not gotten cold yet. the coldest i've seen at my place so far was 38, for about 30 minutes, started warming up. my property is still real green. hard to see them moving.
thanks for the info.i'll post report when i get back.praying for cold weather!
