Got in the woods about 4 pm this afternoon, it was about 42 degrees and has been overcast for the last couple of days. A big doe came into the clay pit and headed for the gravity feeder. Soon another big doe was working her way up the bank toward the feeder. They played musical chairs for a bit and then would disappear in the thick scrub. They both came back and one started to stare at something off to the east. the other one jerked around and also was looking at something I couldn't see. Finally about 4:50, the little 6 point worked his way through the grown over clay pit and up to the feeder, the does disappeared, he took a 100 gr.243 in the neck and fell on the spot.
When I was loading him in the truck the coyotes started howling a short distance away, sure is an eerie sound that close.
This is the same clay pit where our grandson killed his buck on Thanksgiving afternoon.

GOOD TIMES
Well done,
Well Farmer that's pretty good, looks like you got two bucks out of that ole clay pit this year. I bet there ain't many folks around that use a chain hoist to pull their deer up on the skinning rack. For the biggest part most people wouldn't know how to use it. Congrats on the buck!
