I set up on the same spot I killed the previous 7 point . In the morning I saw 2 does . Mid day me and Mikey did a little scouting , looking for a better spot for the afternoon . 3:45 we headed in . Told Mikey where he had to go and I was going back to my spot . I wasn't real sure of staying but I was too tired to move . About 5 I dosed off , 20 some minutes later back to hunting . I picked up the bleat can , and grunt call . Did a few calls and started glassing the area . At 6 I caught movement in tall grass in a small pond about 90 yards away . At first I thought it was a pig , I couldn't see what it was . Kept looking and the grass kept shaking , I told myself I wasn't going to shoot a pig . After a few minutes trying to find out what was in there a doe bolted out of the pond . I knew exactly was coming out . All I saw where horns moving through brush . I picked up the muzzle and got ready . I only had 2 spot I could shoot through . As soon as he went through the first shooting lane I squeezed and primer didn't go off . Man talk about heart attack , I quickly ejected the primer and put a new one . He moved 15 feet more and as he came into the next shooting lane I fired , he buckled and just stood there . I quickly reloaded and he took a few steps toward me . Now he's 1/4 to me , I put the crosshairs on his shoulder and fired . With all the smoke I didn't see if he ran off . Reloaded again and scoped the whole area and nothing moved , then I saw the doe walking away . Got down and made my way to where he was . He dropped right there . I couldn't believe it , I was super happy . Thank You Lord . The rest was lost of dragging , pics and cleaning . Thanks Mikey for taking me as your guest . Also thanks Ron for letting us stay in your house .
