As far as I'm concerned I'd have GZ as a neighbor any time. I've been there and done that when it comes to break ins in a neighborhood. You couple guys sit back and let whoever walk through your neighborhood, wave hello to 'em and call the cops when your chit is ripped off. As for me I'm watching and questioning anyone that doesn't look like they belong there or are up to no good. Nothing illegal with that. As far as I'm concerned that's called looking out for your neighbors and I encourage it. Had the kid just gone home he'd still be around. Instead he laid in wait for GZ and ended up getting capped. It is what it is.
Those that say GZ shouldn't have disregarded the instructions of Law enforcement need to listen to the actual phone call and stop getting their talking points from the media. The operator was asking GZ questions about TMs whereabouts when TM started running (now why would the poor innocent "child" do that). At that point GZ got out of his car looking for where he went. Then the operator asked if he was following him and GZ said yes. Then the operator told GZ "we don't need you to do that" to which he responded "ok". At this point GZ had no idea where TM was. We know this because the operator asks GZ for his house # and he says he doesn't want to say it out loud because he doesn't know where TM is and he doesn't want him to hear his address.
Now from this how do you draw the conclusion that GZ disregarded instructions? The operator didn't even give instruction. He said "we don't need you to do that" not "don't do that". How do you even come to the conclusion that GZ confronted TM? It's sort of hard to confront someone when you have no idea where they are.
I could go further but it's getting long so I'll quit.

Agree. I live on a dead end street with a total of 7 houses on it, surrounded by woods and a creek. We have a neighborhood watch here. No idea what it entails. We have a sign at the entrance to my street and that's all I know. We pretty much know every vehicle that has any business down here. The old lady at the corner sits on her porch all day and smokes cigarettes, like she has done for the last 50+ years. It's usually not long if after a vehicle drives down here someone is walking outside to see where they went. If someone walks down here in a hoody I will guarantee you they are lost or up to no good, and yes, they are getting profiled
yo he ran cuz that crazy azz cracker was gonna molest him, lol. according to the prosecutors witness he already had it whipped out. sorry I didn't have the time to listen to every word of the trial, so I might embellish a bit.
