has anybody ever seen what i guess would be a black panther? i have seen one of them while out hunting. plus my grandfather shot one near his house just outside Arcadia when my dad was 14. The strange thing is i asked a biologist about it last year he looked at me like i was crazy. He told me nothing like would ever or has ever been in florida. has anybody else ever seen anything like this???????

I saw one in Croom WMA about 1/2 mile from the check station. I was stone sober and it was about 50 yards in front of my truck. It walked out in the road, stopped, turned and looked at me, and went on across.

I have seen jaguarundi in zoos and it was NOT one of them. I saw the GW a little while later and told him about it. He smiled and said he had seen it too

I bet there are 100k threads on the net whether they exist or not, but I know what I saw.

And there are more damn panthers than they say there are. I have been to the glades a total of three time in my life and saw a panther every time...Now what are the odds of that???
Saw one when I was a kid on a hunt trip down there. Also went fishing in Everglades City 2 years in a row, and saw one cross that road both trips.

I agree about the numbers of panthers also. I'v seen 5 in the last two years in Bear Island (Everglades)alone. And another off I-75 heading to Gibsington.(can't spell it)
