Does anyone know if you can hunt Eglin year round for hogs? I stopped by Jackson Guard to get some info last weekend and the lady at the desk said that you can only hunt hogs during deer season. That sounded kinda off, I imagine that would be the worst time to hunt them.

I believe she's right. Eglin is a WMA, but it is run by the US Air Force, and the USAF controls the seasons and open areas, etc. Like most WMAs, hogs can only be hunted during hunting season. Hogs can only be hunted year-round on private land , with the landowner's permission, of course. On private land the hogs are considered to be the landowner's property, like any domestic animal.
Find out if they have a separate Small Game season on Eglin, and if so, ask if you can hunt hogs then as well.
I will have to go back and ask them, it makes sense that it would be run like a wma but talking to people in the area they make it sound as if it is open all year. the conflicting info is making it hard to get a real answer but I should lean towards the people who manage the area. i'll just have to dig a little deeper.
