Welcome! I've been hunting out of Oasis and see deer every trip. I just rode out to Bear Island 2 days ago and was thinking of hunting off Turner River road somewhere next season but not if ya'll aren't seeing deer. The only leases I've found for less than a grand were in south Georgia but then you got a $300 license on top of that. I've got 5 of us looking now and when we find the right 1 I'll pass on the info but we're probably gonna be in the $1500 range.

It's a crying shame how much it costs to hunt anymore.Between fuel, licenses, lease fees alone you almost have to work 2 jobs or be wealthy. Not to mention if you want to feed corn or try to grow a food plot or keep a few dogs.Just in the last 10 years everything has doubled in cost.

My old lease outside of statenville took right at 6 1/2 hrs at 80 mph on cruise control with 1 stop for gas along the way. I'd leave at 3 in the morning and would see no traffic at all. Got there with plenty of time to unload at camp and get the afternoon hunt in. I wouldn't drive that far either if I couldn't leave on Thursdays and come back on Sundays. You might want to look into 1 of the Rec use places on myfwc.com. Still gonna be a 5 hour drive minimum though from Miami.
