Hey everyone, just thought I would join this forum and find out some information from the pros since I'm new to hunting. This is my first time ever owning a firearm (don't worry, I'm going to take the hunter safety courses and such; also an eagle scout with shotgunning merit badge) 😛
Anyways, I've always lived in Winter Park which probably explains why I've never been hunting before or owned a gun. I bought a Mossberg 835 Ultimag. I think I'm going to take it to shoot straight just to get familiar with shooting it; they'll let me shoot buckshot and slugs on their range.
I'm a little confused as to how the quotas work but I'll try to figure that out. I'm interested in hunting boar, turkey and waterfowl.

Welcome, you could also try East Orange Shooting Sports over off of Forsyth, they may allow you to use a shotgun there as well. Good luck.

When can one put in for Dove quotas? I figure it will be good to have them and I can gear up for the season. Are they hard to come by? Is it August 23rd when one can apply?
