Welcome to the forum. I'm new here myself and these fellas are a great bunch. When I served, I had the opportunity to hunt from coast to coast. Take advantage of your time in the woods as you transfer from unit to unit, you'll build some great memories.
What branch of service are you in? I spent 23yrs in the US Coast Guard, sailing at first on two different cutters, flying for about 8yrs and then settling in to an office gig right before retirement. It's a great life, especially in these economic times, but it's for the young warriors. Thanks for your service brother, you make an old man proud to be an American...which is hard to do these days. :flageagle
Welcome, badkins84! I spent about 10 years living in Ft Walton/Mary Esther. Was stationed at Hurlburt for 6 years then stayed up there a few more after I got out. Eglin offers some great hunting, and there are several WMA within an hour or so drive either east or west. I think you can find some decent hunting leases over towards Panama City around Pine Log WMA and Point Washington. Someone on here from that area would be more up to date than I am, since I haven't been up there in over10 years.
Thanks for your service! :usaf :saluting
welcome
Welcome. Hunt on the base! Spent 21 years in the service, Army, retired 2008 CW4 and hunted all over the US and a few foreign locations. Hunted, fished and even did some trapping at Fort Drum, NY; Fort Dix, NJ; Fort Huachuca AZ; Fort Stewart, GA; Hunter Army Airfield, GA; and Fort Gordon, GA; I still hunt at Fort Stewart and HAAF GA in Hinesville and Savannah. Check out MWR and Outdoor Recreation/Services... You'll probably be surprised with the opportunities on base/post. Some of the best kept hunting and fishing secret spots since most don't realize or understand how to go about it. Killed and caught a ton of animals and fish.... Good luck!!!
Welcome to the site. :toast :toast
