several but its cool to see them with 5 or 6 or more wonder what causes multiple spots!
I think its a result of interracial hankypanky in areas where both reds and trout are high in numbers or just high 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆
We got into a school of them once in Louisiana, and every one we caught had at least 4 spots, with 7 being the most, and we must have caught 40 fish, all about 19-20 inches.
But I think the most I've seen was 9, and that was on a huge red caught off the northwest end of the big spoil island west of Port Manatee in Tampa Bay. It was about 36" and caught by my brother using pinfish for bait.
I cought one last year that had 11 on one side and 13 on the other. Some of the spots where connected but you could tell it was two spots so I counted them. It was 26" long.
The spots went half way down the fish, thought it was a trout at first
if you google multiple spot redfish, you will see some that appear to have a spot on almost every scale it seems. there are pictures of some of these fish, and there is usually a prize in some tourneys for the redfish with the most spots
