My son finally landed his first snook! It happened the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We had our family get-together down at my dad's house in Englewood, and about 5:30pm my son and a couple other family members were fishing off the dock. They had caught several big pinfish, a ladyfish and some small snapper, then my dad went down and showed them where to cast. A few minutes later my son landed the one pictured below:
He had hooked snook before from the dock, and a few times out in the boat, but they always broke him off or threw the hook. He fought this little beauty well, kept him out of the pilings, and got a picture before releasing him. The snook was about 1.5" shy of 28", but a lot of fun to catch!
