CALOOSAHATCHEE RIVER fishing questions! What when where!

I have a friend that will be heading down there soon to visit but would like some fishing info!She would like to know what she may find to fish for like reds,trout,snook and sheepshead! What type of baits are doing good!

So any info would be great thanks guys,lamehawk!

If I was her I would hire a guide. The fishing down there can be tricky from what I have heard...

Cool she just will be running small boat where her friend lives on river!

head towards pine island area,real shallow now so you will have to be easy going,grab some shrimp and fish the oyster bar or do like mike said and hire a guide.

Will they be in Ft Myers/Cape Coral area, or further inland? There are tons of canals and waterways that feed into/from the river west of I-75. Realistically I guess everything in that area drains into the river or the bay! There's snook, reds, trout, sheepshead, maybe even pompano and mackerel.

Right now the water everywhere is really clear, and cold, so fish can be skittish or off the bite. Should be warming up some over the next few days, and since Chokoloskee is a bit further south than here they will probably not be as affected by the cool weather.

Shrimp or pinfish are good bait for just about anything worth catching.
