Thanks for the tally, fishindad.

I spoke with trapper dan yesterday, and here's the plan:

We're going to be there around noon Friday. Actually trapper dan is always there! He says there's a good number of meat hogs on the property so everybody who wants to kill one will have a chance. He has the stands and feeders in place and dogs on standby if needed.

Probably hunt Friday PM from stands, then have some burgers and brats that evening. Then hunt the stands again Saturday AM, and if hogs don't move and we need to motivate them we'll let the dogs get em going midday. We'll have a pig roasting on the grill for us to pick at and enjoy in the afternoon and then maybe hunt the stands again Saturday evening. We'll probably finish off the pig that night and any hamburgers or brats left over.

Sunday we can hunt in the morning if anybody still needs to get a hog. Then we can break camp, clean up and head home.

In between we'll have time for doing some other stuff, get some more hog-cleaning practice, sit around and tell stories, all the good stuff.

Now here's a list of things we'll need:

Cups - I have that covered!
Paper plates
Plastic utensils
Paper Towels
Hamburger patties, brats, wieners
Buns for hamburgers, pulled pork sandwiches, hotdogs
Favorite bar-b-cue sauce(s)
Bread
Lunch meat - some ham and turkey
Cheese
Mustard, ketchup, other condiments
Chips - maybe some Ruffles, Doritos, pretzels, corn chips, whatever y'all like
Cereal or other stuff for breakfast

If you want to volunteer to bring some of it, let us know. Otherwise we can take a collection, make a list and run into town to buy what we don't have. If you think of something else we'll need, post it up.

Also, since Iron Chef Al unfortunately isn't going to be able to make it, do we have any pig-roasting specialists who want to take charge of the pig roast? I'm sure we can figure it out, but here's someone's chance to show us how it's done!

Stuff you should bring:
Drinks of choice, whether it be water, sodas, beer, wine, whiskey, milk, etc.
Cooler for your hog(s)
Weapon(s) of choice
Sharp knives
Gloves to wear when cleaning hogs
Roll of TP
Thermacell

There's a bulk ice dispenser back near Williston, just a few minutes from camp. That's the way to go for icing down your hog meat.

If you want to share the lodge or if you're camping, please confirm so we'll know what to expect. If you want to share the lodge, bring pillows, blankets, sleeping bag, whatever. If you're camping, bring what you usually take when you go camping!

Everyone who knows they can make it, please confirm in this thread. I'll also be PM-ing everybody who says they are coming to confirm. If anybody is interested in just dropping by for some food and to hang out around the fire, you're more than welcome. ($10 cover and 3 drink minimum! :rockon ) Seriously, this isn't just a hog hunt. It's a chance to meet some good people, spend some time fellow-shipping with like-minded people, relaxing a bit and enjoying some simple pleasures.

If you have any questions or think of something we haven't mentioned, either post it up here or PM me.

Gary, is it possible to reserve one of the Friday night hunt spots? Reason being, the sooner I'm able to beat feet on Saturday the better. My daughter has a commitment that day and versus canceling the hunt we would rather make it a squeaker.

Looks like a good trip! I will bring the following...

Buns for Burgers and dogs
Brats
hot dogs
Mustard
BBQ sauce
Paper plates
-- Maybe some fresh king fish or Spanish Mackerel if Thursday turns out the way I hope!

If I can get it in time... exploding targets. Yes I said that right. 🙂

I will be there both Fri and Sat leaving on Sun. I am making a weekend of it. I am also bringing my nephew in addition to my son. We will be staying in my Pop-up.
