Here it is, the event everyone has been waiting for like a fat sow waiting for the feeder to go off!
Last year's get-together at trapper dan's place in Williston was a great time, and we want to have even more fun this year, and kill even more of those vicious wild boar hogs!
We'd like to get started early on a Friday afternoon, probably in late March (someone correct me if I'm wrong). If we start early enough maybe we can get a pig roast set up this time.
There's limited space in the "hunting lodge", and of course a limit to how many folks can be out hunting at one time. I'll let trapper dan address those details.
We had such a good time last year on Friday night around the campfire, I think if anyone is inclined to just come hang out with us and maybe camp overnight, we might be able to do that, too.
This will be a potluck kind of thing, where everybody brings food/drinks for themselves and whatever they want to share, and/or we can take up a collection and a couple of us go into town and buy what we need.
Tentative Itinerary:
- Friday - arrive at lodge and get set up for whatever we decide to do Friday night (brilliant, eh?)
- Saturday morning- get up early, get to the stands, give as many folks as we can a chance to kill some hogs.
- Saturday noonish - Bloody up the skinning rack and fill the dumpster with hog remains and the coolers with fresh pork.
- Saturday afternoonish - maybe have another meal together, clean up and break camp.
The whole hunting aspect is designed to do two things:
- Introduce new folks to hog hunting and how to clean your kill
- Provide fun and fellowship for the fine FOHAF family!
If you're an experienced hunter wanting a challenge of your skills and test of your woodsmanship, this ain't for you! But if you're just getting into hunting and want to learn something, or this ain't your first rodeo and you would like to share your wisdom, or if you just want to make some new friends, we'd love to have you along!
So if you're interested, post here, and maybe give an idea of when would be good for you.

I would like to attend dependent on cost. In march the only two weekends I could would the 9th or 23rd. It would probably be my son and I (both new hunters). I definatly want to come and hunt and meet people.
