That ain't good. CCU isn't sposed to be for long term, like hours, not days. Prayers are with him.

He is still in CCU. Ended up giving him around 15 bags of anti venom so far. They are moving him from CCU to PCU tonight but he seems alot better than he was yesterday. I spoke to his sister and she wanted to thank everyone for their prayers.

I guess my attitude about snake protection has changed, not that I was ever not safe, but did not wear high boots all the time. I think next year I am shopping for Chaps as I would like the protection to go above the knee. It can happen at any time, just the inconvenience, not to mention the pain and cost makes protection well worth the $$. I know in TX we always wore above the knee protection in the field but I have been less diligent in FL. These 17-18" tall boots are a false sense of security as far as I am concerned.
