Well i wanted to take some time to give you all some info and an experience i have had.
As we all know moultrie is one of the biggest suppliers of game cams and feeders. You all should know whenever you buy any moultrie product MAKE SURE you go online and register it for your warranty. There is a warranty card in the package it self. You can either register it online or send in the card. Also keep the box with the reciept. If you have any problems with it within the 12 month warranty period they WILL NOT WORK ON IT without the warranty card sent in (or online) or the receipt for proof of purchase.
Let it be knows that they WILL NOT repair any of the older spring top battery models. They are discontinued and will not fix them.
Heres my experience:
I started of with the spring top battery game cam. It would just not work any more so i called moultrie and they said its discontinued and they cannot fix or warrranty it.
So i bought a d40 online from a friend. He bought it brand new and it was still in the package. I got it and right out of the box and it didnt work. I put it up on a tree came back 2 weeks later and no pics and the on off button would not work any more. SOOO. Now i remember the first thing i did when i opened up the box is filled out the warranty form and put it in the mail. Then for good measure i also went online and registered it. So i was SURE that they know i got a new one thats under warranty. SOOO. i call moultrie and tell them "ok this is my second time calling, i threw away the old cam and bought a d40 and now this one dont work". They say "ok, whats your name" i tell them and give them the info and they say "we have no record of your warranty, unless you have the original receipt we cannot fix it, and the cost to fix it will be more then a new unit" SO i start getting pissed off and yelling at them telling them that this is the second cam and i made sure with the new one i send in the warranty form and so on.. They said they will not fix it bottom line or do anything under warranty or replace it.
SO now im pissed. I think.. SO i email the guy who i got it from and he was nice enough to send me the receipt from midway where he got it from. Long story short i got my brand new moultrie d40 game cam in the mail today ups.
Remember the warranty sheet and reciept keep for 1 year or they will not even try to help you..

We don't need customer service we have your money. Just not right.
That sux in this day and age with economy it looks like many places r going to be harder to get warranty work done.
Ill just go buy a new one, put the old one in the new box, and go return it for a refund
that also works.
