T.C.R. one trick I now use is to slip a small diam piece of bungee cord thru the belt loop of the sheath and around the knife handle, pull it tight and tie in a knot. it acts as a backup to keep the knife in the sheath if a branch or vine pops the sheaths button snap open (which seems to happen to me a lot). it's easy/fast to slide the bungee knot up and over the handle to free it when needed.
I lost my Gerber fixed blade w/ gut hook, sometime during turkey season. Ive torn the woods apart looking for it and am still sick over it. Its not the monetary value that makes me upset. To me, a knife needs to be sharpened about 50 times before its worth a crap. I had that one broke in good
Iliv2hunt there's kits available that includes pre shaped blades with scales and pins to attach the handle. All you would need is file and sandpaper to shape handle and glue to attach all depends on how far ya want to go.I'm keeping my day job Nacho not gonna get rich making knives. That's a good idea T.C.R. I may do that . Sangster thanks bud.
