I'm not a tech buff or savvy about such things but maybe it's time to look into 1. it's easy to get turned around in the thick stuff when you can't see far ahead (as it's so flat) especialy in the dark when you don't want to use a light. any sugestions for user friendly not out of the world expensive models? and I assume they are lit up so you can see them in the dark.

got a iphone of Android phone? Cabella's has a hunting app that works with GPS enabled Smart phones. ITs Awesome! only cost 4.99 for the app, and I get a web interface to create new hunts, set waypoints, view satellite images and topo maps of the area. As well as a compass, blood trail feature that follows you as you track for your downed animal. Other cool features is it will get the weather, sun and moon phases, and allow you to take pics and video and upload them about the hunt.

For me simple is better. I work with computer every day and have a Lowrance I hunt ($300) It will do almost everything for you if you take a 4 year college course. I also have a Garmin cant remember the model but the cheapest and easiest to use ($100) MUCH MUCH EASIER TO USE.

I also have a Garmin Back tracker even cheaper ($50) and easier to use. the only drawback with the easier the amount of time to lock in on satelites. It seem the cheaper it is the longer to lock on and the easiest to lose signal. (on cloudy days and thick tree covering) the back tracker wont even lock on sitting inside of truck have to hold it outside. the Lowrance will lock on and hold a signal even sitting in living room. also the more expensive the more accurate but if you are only looking for truck that should not be a problem even with the cheapest ones

with A.D.D. most things I hear/read go in 1 ear and out the other. just have a reg flat screen phone and don't know, or can't be bothered to learn all the apps/games. I just want a phone to make/receive calls, get messages and occasionally use the alarm clock, that's about it. so simple to use is priority #1. since I hunt solo almost entirely I would venture further into unknown areas with a gps I think. I hate to trash up a place with tape and brite eyes.
