had a very scary moment today, afraid to tell my wife. trekking thru the swamp today I came upon a single person ladder stand, I know the owner and it was sturdy enough to hold my 325 mass just that the arm rests are close together like an airplane seat. unloaded the gun and hoisted it up with a pull rope, but when getting out, my skinning knife musta come unsnapped rubbing against the armrests, fallen out of the sheath, and the handle somehow managed to hold itself in the mesh floor firmly with the blade pointing up. I lower my pack turn around and start backing down the ladder only to come face to face with my knife, its a miracle a didn't gut myself like a fish.most of my belt knives I usualy tie a loop of thin bunji cord thru the belt loop and arount the handle as a back up retention device, never got around to doing it to this one, would have prevented the entire event. well good to still be with yall.

That's why I use folding knives now. After losing 4 or 5 handled knives from their sheaths I don't carry them anymore.

def used up another one of my nine lives, can't be too many left. couldn't have done that if I tried in a million years. crap like that always seems to happen to me. when I've said nobody ever thought I'd live past 21, I wasn't joking.
