everybody seems to love them so I figured I'd start a new thread instead of keep hijacking the 243 thread. just finished mounting a 1965-1975 bushnell 3x9x40 on the same vintage rem mdl 700 bdl in 270 cal. a friends birthday present for his 17 y/0 son. got rid of the iron sights and see-thru mounts, what an improvement. sleek, scope cover just off the bbl, handles like a gun 1/2 it's wt. just have to zero it with some of my handloads.

Now that I look back, I don't know how I ever shot the ole -06 with the see thru mounts. That's what us old dog hunters did back in the day and we just accepted it I guess. My dad bought me that rifle as a graduation present. I've probably killed 40 deer and countless hogs with that gun. It went with me to Colorado.
Putting these mounts on it has never felt so natural
I've said it before.....you should be able to shoulder a rifle with your eyes completely closed. Open your eyes and the scope should be in perfect position. if you have to move your head, then it's not set up correctly

I got the CVA Dead-On mount for my Wolf. Their version of the Dead Nuts. Z2 alloy, 1 piece, etc. Love it!
