I'm new to hunting and just bought my first rifle, Howa Ranchland .308. Does anyone have any tips on what gr of bullet works best in these? i believe the rifling 1:10. And any thoughts on the scope (came as a combo) nikkosterling nighteater 3.5 - 10x 42 mm.Thanks in advance for any replies.

I have the same one but in green, I love it I shoot remington 150gr psp in mind ever had any problems. The more you shoot it the better the groups get. Make sure you do the break in the way they say to. I also have the same one in the 223 love both of them, in the 223 I shoot remington 55gr psp love them both. The remington group the best to me ever lost anything with them. That is my in put but everone has one

Stick with 150gr or 165gr. Been shooting rem core lokt 150gr for years in my .308 without one problem and they shoot 1/2" groups in my gun (heavy barrel). Been wanting to try fed fusions in 165gr for the .308, they shoot great in my. 25-06 /120gr.

try several different brands and bullet wts and see what it shoots best. don't waste time and $ with types you would not use for hunting. it should show a favor towards certain types/wts.
