BIG difference between a 357 and a 380, of course a 357 will shoot 38's.

bought my wife an old 38 special colt agent snub nosed revolver with alloy frame, perfect for her. and me for snake shot, but will not use +p ammo. one of those new ruger lcp's are more costly but should get the job done and handle +p ammo. don't know your wife, but a hot load 357 in any snub nose , especialy a light weight one is a real handfull even for a man.

for me , I use a ruger sp101 hammerless 5 shot and heavy, but well made and durable and about the only snubbie that I feel will digest hot 357's without too much recoil and wear out too quick, a little heavy but good to conceal and easy to carry as a back up gun when hunting. 2- snake shot and 3-180gr jhp's, in stainless and gets alot of use. in winter when less/no snakes around it's a 45 acp. don't trust the snake shot in an auto.
