great caliber choice. I use mine all the time. I can strongly recommend the ruger all weather mdl 77/22 stainless/laminate in bolt action, unbelievably accurate and has the wt and feel of a big game rifle. a lot of other good ones in other actions/mfg's also winchester lever,ruger semi come to mind. you usualy end up with good deals, hard to go wrong with a 22 mag. just carried mine around this am. a 22 mag rifle and that snub nose hand cannon should be a good combo.
X 2 on the ruger m77/22 magnum target model. I have one and they are accurate and built just like a centerfire model. But if you want one for under $300 bucks, you can't go wrong with marlin rifles.
If you can find a Ruger All Weather Laminated Stainless M77/22 in .22WMR for $300.00 you had better jump on it. Normally they get $375-450 for a used one in great shape. I have the same one that Nacho has and it shoots golf balls at 100 yards...
