If it were a 270, I would not be getting rid of it.
if you hanload theres realy not a hell of alot of diff between the 06 and 270, 31/1000 of an inch in diam and the 06 will give you app 200fps more velocity in equal wt bullets and bbl lengths. certainly no reason to switch/sell rifles. yes you may get a little more recoil with the 06 if youre using a heavier bullet. I use a 270 wsm myself but gotta give credit where credit is due. the 30-06 brass is pure magic, whether necked down to 25-06,270,280,or necked up tp 35 wheelen, it's all the same brass and they all work great, same goes for the 308. the 30-06 can be loaded with any wt bullet from 110 gr-220gr. I don't believe any other caliber comes close to that kind of versatility. if you experiment with diff bullet wts the 06 will do anything the 270 will, only better, JMO, to each his own.
