if you got some screw in chokes (like fishindad) and open adjustable high viz aftermarket sights for that 18" defender bbl you would have one hell of a set up that could do virtually anything. a scope for the rifled bbl with cantilever for rifled slug accuracy, the 28" for anything that flies and the 18" with a pistol grip for home defense or full stock for hogs/turkey/deer and able to use buckshot / slugs or birdshot in it. trading a mdl 500 for a newer mdl 870 express isn't much of a step up imo, maybe if it was an older wingmaster with good wood, YES. anyhow, that's how I used to have mine set up. always had at least 2-3 mdl 500's or mavericks set up for beaters/backups or guests and even had several different sized stocks for kids/women or big dudes. my 2 cents.
I already purchased another shotgun. Don't need to trade anymore. I do have a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot that was going to be mounted on the rifled barrel.
I could add the Bushnell red dot for $50. All items are brand new!
Also found a brand new Limbsaver pad I can throw in. There's three options:
1. Mossberg 500 with both barrels for $330 OBO
2. Mossberg 500 with both barrels and the 18.5" security barrel for $400 OBO
3. Mossberg 500 with both barrels, the 18.5" barrel, and the Bushnell red dot for $450 OBO.
