www.moultriefeeders.com, deer feeder close outs. has a plastic tripod 30 gal holds 200 lbs corn with a digital timer, a tapered bottom, programmable spin times up to 6 for 1- 20 seconds. Tim-E1 (I believe) gave it to me and I've been using it for almost 2 yrs with the same 6 volt batt he gave it to me with. this 1 runs on 4- aa batts provided. led display finally crapped out and squirrels have been trying to chew their way in but haven't made it yet. am in the process of adding wire mesh to top and flashing around upper top of bbl (using up stuff I got lying around). legs come in 3 sections, I use all 3 and need a ladder or back of quad/pickup to fill bbl. you could use 1 or 2 leg sections to make it lower to the ground and easier to fill but closer to animals and it won't throw corn as far. definitely NOT bear proof. I hammer in a section of pipe next to each leg and wire it so cows/hogs can't knock it over. you could build bigger/better with a 55 gal drum but hardware and components will quickly add up to as much or more $
Think he's looking for Tripod Hunting Stands or ladder stands chief, not a feeder... good information though... Order us 6 of them..
for the amt of time I'm spending tweaking and new spinner for this one it'd be cheaper to buy new.
I stopped at wally world in tifton today and I don't think the price was right but they had 16' tripods marked st $88.
