1. Why would you TELL people who forgot? You're just ruining our odds.
2. Ummmm, they changed the date to May 1st...
If we don't look out for each other...who will? I was under the impression that the odds were the same if you were the 1st or last to put in for a permit???
I understand that, and I don't mind letting them know...
When phase 2 starts π

I'm with triple creek, thanks for the reminder especially when you do get a quota selection, show up for the quota hunt that allows 50 hunters and 50 guests and only 13 guys/gals sign in for the day. The automated system via FWC on-line allows those "anti-hunters" to get selected, take the "slots" and we the hunters get screwed. Personally, reminders like this might give us an edge against PETA and other groups-people getting draw so noone can hunt!
When I posted the reminder I knew it was going to create mixed reactions. However, to me the quota draw process is not about beating the odds, is about beating the tree-huggers. As others mentioned on this tread and numerous times before, the anti-hunting community is out there trying to get opportunities from us. How do I know? I have friends that oppose hunting and I know their tricks. They apply to take opportunities from us, believe it or not. Is the same point I tried bringing up a couple of months ago in another thread regarding the Sambar Deer hunts and the Friends of St. Vincent organization. That is one of the reasons why for some of the best quota hunts only a few show up, even when all permits are gone during the first phase and there are only a few, or no quota returns. Real hunters will send them back on time to allow others to go. Anti-hunters will keep them.
Public land hunters need to look out for each other. If I donβt get a quota, but Carlos, or Al or someone else from this forum get it, at least I know a hunter got it and for that Iβm happy, and who knows, maybe I get invited as their guest. When a tree-hugger gets a quota I know Iβm scr#@$6 because a non-hunter took the opportunity form a hunter.
I beleive I did as our motto reads, Florida Outdoors Hunting & Fishing Forums - FOHAF.COM, Where the REAL sportsman "Talk the talk, & Walk the walk"
...And that's all I have to say 'bout that.

Well said. I appreciate your reminder. I just put in for my quota as well.
