Deer and hog. Whichever I see first. lol. I would prefer to get my first deer though.
Funny you mention chickens. I told my wife this past week that I want to get a couple hens to run around the back yard so we can have some fresh eggs.
Not to change the subject but I raised 30 cornish x chickens and they are the best eating creature I've ever bbq'd. Also get 6 eggs everyday. I pretty much try killing a buck during bow and bp season and try to go out of state for some more venison.Sometimes I got to bust a few hogs off my feeder so the deer come in closer though. It worked last year,I was having over 20 porkers a day visiting me and not many deer so I thinned the herd and the next day no hogs but a nice 6 point.After the first week I'ma pretty hardcore hog dog hunter.
What type of chicken would you all recommend someone to get? I would only get two chickens at the most. We don't eat that many eggs.
At some point I will target turkey too. Haven't taken one of those yet either.
We're gonna get busted by the getapo talking about chickens. Try some Rhode Island Reds. Theyare very docile and good egg layers. I used to Turkey hunt all the time till my kids started playing baseball.I want to go BAD,but I coach now and just don't have time in the spring.
