I thought it would be fine. I bought one of those $30 Remington backpacks at Walmart a few weeks back and was only using the fanny pack. It seemed waterproof. It flipping poured for a while. I barely opened it a couple times while covering it to make sure it stayed dry and everything seemed fine. When the rain stopped I opened it up and I had an inch of water at the bottom right where my camera was. Along with my can call. Oh well. Now I'm carrying my other camera again.
I've had it happen to me too, which is why I now have a standing requirement to have at least 2 zipper freezer bags (double zippers are even better) just in case. My "waterproof" backpack doesn't leak a drop thru the fabric, but it might as well be made outta screen, cus the seams don't stop anything. I went ahead and taped the seams with tent seam sealer and sprayed the whole thing inside and out with the camp dry spray (many months before hunting season). Have to do it early though, or you'll never get rid of the silicone smell.
just picked up 2 new moultries. got the d-55 and the d55ir. will check them in a couple weeks. should work fine. have never had a problem with moultrie products.
