I am not involved in this contest, but A legal buck in Florida is a buck with 5" antlers. I would have to call that deer just a buck. With no points for extra points. I probably would of thought that deer was a doe at 20 yds in the a.m.
Sorry about losing the 7 pt. The way I see it is just because you put a hole in an animal first doesn't make it yours. It is the guy who dispatches the animal, and is first to it. Deserves the deer. You did not really explain the story behind it. If I got a shot off on a deer, and hit it, but the deer runs off quite a way. Lets sat 100yds, or more, and runs past a guy who puts an arrow in it and he goes down. He killed the deer. Who is to say if you would have ever found the deer. Let alone killed it. Quite frankly it would suck to tell a story of the deer you killed showing off his antlers, and explaining how some other guy finished it off for you. Seems like you got them pegged. Keep up the good work.
Well if its up for a vote, Ill call it 5 points. It is a deer, but has no SCORABLE points. The old saying is if you can hang a diamond ring on a point, then it is considered a point. Your team is saying they are not thru the skin. Now having said that, congrats on a good weekend, congrats on the points for your team, and lets move on and not cause any friction or create any animosity. There is enough of that in this world as it is
