What kind of tractor are you running? What you gonna plant for a fall crop?
Man, SA, you sure you weren't over this way today, cus I got skunked.
Actually, it was a very cool day (for a day with a heat index of 118 degrees). I didn't see a single hog, but I got to watch a turkey hen, a spike and 6 pt in velvet, an old long-nosed doe and her little spotted twins, another "homeless" yearling/fawn (that the big ol doe kept kicking the crap out of), and one hell of a wall hanger buck for most of the day out at my feeder. And most of the time, all 7 deer and the hen were all out at the same time, I wish the big fella wouldn't have been so shy, cus I'd love to get a good look at the massive rack growin on his head. I was only able to see the size, and his main beams were at least 20" wide already, and silver dollar sized bases. My mother-in-laws' gonna have to go out of town in September. Even if it's only for a day. Otherwise, he's gonna end up in a neighbor's freezer instead of mine.
They'd all feed for about and hour, and then slip back into the thick stuff and bed down, and repeat the process every 3-4 hours all day until around 8:30 tonight. The spike is gonna be a cow-horned spike for sure. His spikes are already 8-10" long, and there still about 2 months before they go hard horned.
Shot a boar yesterday evening 2 points for us :rockon Post pic's later when I get home.
Good for you John, enjoy it why you can.
