WTG DH!!! :clap :clap
Thanks you all. He looked ALOT bigger walking through the hammock and then on the game cam in velvet but I'm happy with getting a shot at him and most of all happy to recover the deer. It's one of the 3 biggest I've killed with a bow.
FLDXT- I thought you would like the comment. No ill feelings intended towards you or anyone else, it was just a little smart azz comment. My friend who (kills alot of mature bucks) aged him at 3.5 and is doing a euro mount on him. One or two more years and he would have been a goodun..
The funny thing about this is the buck wasn't in rut and his hocks were clean/no puss pockets around his antler bases/swelling of the neck. Every pic I have of him was at night but he finally decided to feed in the daylight yesterday. Not many of this size/age make that mistake as they are fairly smart and lucky to have lived this long in there with constant pressure on them.
Very nice Congrats DH
Good Deer!
You ain't the only one. I had a complete pass thru on a doe with a Muzzy 3 blade on Monday right thru the boiler room, but the blood just stopped after about 40 yards. No deer anywhere w/in 20 acres, and we walked the entire property. I'm switchin to the NAP Bloodrunners.
probably wasnt through the boiler room then. try slick tricks they cut deer in half
Got good foamy pink and red blood. Watched the arrow hit, and at 25 yards, it was definitely a good shot. Maybe a little high, but definitely in the vitals, especially if you consider the down angle of the shot.
