At least you know why you're missing the bigger bucks.
I'm going to be hunting the next two afternoons. Anyone else going? I was riding by the block where I have the 20' ladder stand and I saw a good 6-8 pt slipping across the road and headed straight down a deer trail to my stand. I put a camera in there yesterday and ran off several deer already in there hitting the acorns that just started dropping. Man, that place is slam full of acorns and I can't wait to hunt that place tomorrow or this weekend.
Just hammered a 4pt about 10 mins ago. Blood was pumping out everywhere and I heard him crash. Pic 2 follow after dark..
YES!!!! Way to go doghunter!!! You are single-handedly carrying our team....until next weekend when I go to Andrews!!!

He's a 5pt(wedding band is hanging on the kicker). I watched him from 80yds away stare at some coons near me for 10 mins and he was spooky coming in. He fed on acorns and corn all around me but was very, very close and I didn't want to come to full draw and him hear me. I watched him for nearly 10 mins feed around me and I heard a truck coming down the main road, which would mask my drawback noise. The truck got close and he picked his head up and finally looked, and I drew back. He immediately looked up in my direction but it was too late as I had it on him already-direct pass through in the boilermaker and blood spewed everywhere as he took off for the pines.
I let him lay for 30 mins and got down around 30 mins before dark. As I started into the pines to pick up the bloodtrail, I heard a deer take off towards the main grade road (this is where it gets weird). I didn't pay much attention to it and at the moment I hear another truck passing out on the main grade. I hear them stop suddenly, and I heard a man say "dang what a nice buck, see, see him in that pine row". They drive off and I find my deer approx. 50 yds ahead... I should have stayed in the stand until dark lol
