I tried the post hole thing, and it didn't really work. I think my problem was that the water table is only 12" down, and the hole caved in before they could get to most of it. Then the coons and tree rats took the rest. The hogs don't seem to like to have to work for it much.

I filled the hole completely and covered with dirt/stink juice and more hog wild powder, so it can't cave in. made it down 3-4' in a low area with water on 3 sides, but water was filling in almost imediately. at this point i've tried just about anything I can think of/ heard of / read about and afford. not looking forward to it but may have to sit in the stand at night. just after too dark to shoot I hear the most activity. would it be legal to leave a coleman lantern near the feeder on private land?

no artificial light. without a permit from FWC. Might have to wait for the next full moon. Nothing illegal about shooting hogs by the full moon. (on private property)

It's not against the law to fire hunt hogs, same as shining a treed coon. I wouldn't say it would be all that sporting shooting a hog off of a feeder with a bunch of other burried bait at night with a spotlight but hey,if it works for you 5 points.
