thats a small target what'd ya kill it with gun or stick? if I were P.C. I"d have to say why kill it but I put poisonous snakes in the same catagory as skeeters, gnats and no-seeums I won't miss it and one less threat to me or my dogs and hopefuly open up a spot in the ecosystem for a non poisonous species.

Sure thing. After you skin it, which you'll wanna do from the bottom, remove the entrails (i.e., guts, nasty stuff, etc.). Once you have it skinned and gutted, you have 2 options, leaving the bones in, or filleting it like a fish starting at the backbone and working your way down the ribs. I prefer the boneless method, as it makes it easier to eat. Usually, soaking in buttermilk overnight (or at least a few hours) before battering and frying will keep the meat moist. Be careful when you're frying it. It needs to be done, but don't overcook it. Overcooked will be like eating rubber bands. It doesn't freeze well, so it's best to cook it the same day or the next. I find a that a spicy mayo makes the perfect dippin sauce.

You are darn lucky you didn't get bit. A freshly killed snake, although dead can still bite you. Pure reflexes, but it can happen

I will admit I am not wearing my glasses at the moment, but pic #1 with her holding it, it sure looks like its head is attached to me.....
I am just making folks aware that reptiles will act purely on reflexes after they are dead. A dead snake can still bite you.
