I ran a commercial landscape crew in college, a good 48" walk behind mower with a sulky can cut alot of grass in a short amount of time, especially if it has hydraulic controls. It's like lawn surfing and with the ability to lift the front of the deck off the ground, you can cut down some high grass as well.

dang bro you want your cake and eat it by your self. Id say go with the rough cut pull behing. It will cut 2" stuff and will do ok on grass. with the rough cut you can set the height you wanna cut also you wont break it if you hit a log or stump. I would not want to be the one useing a walk behind cutting heavy brush and dont forget about Mr. Noshoulders you will be pissing off

If you can find one of the old Gravelys that has the single blade like a bush hog, that thing will out right cut some s#$%. The swisher rough cut works real good in brush. But you do have to slow down a bit to cut just grass.. Can mow rough stuff faster.
