Contrary to my name I was extremely lucky Saturday morning. I designated one of my stands a club stand after last year. After sitting in my favorite stand most of archery, I decided to go and sit in the club stand opening morning of muzzleloader. It was the first time anyone had sit in the stand so far this year. I had put a camera up on one of the lanes a few days earlier and had a few does on it along with a huge boar every morning about 7:30. Sure enough the boar strolled in about 7:24am and hung around on the freshly mowed lane for about an hour rooting around. While the hog was there I had two does come out on my left and was there for about 5 minutes. Everything thing left about 8:30 and I was getting settled in for what I thought was going to be a long sit. At 9:10 the 8 point came out of the woods about 100 yards straight ahead and was walking right at me. I put the crosshairs on his chest and followed him till he got around 50 yards from me. I grunted to stop him and when he turned broadside I make a good shot and dropped him where he stood.
I had hunted Ocala wma and never saw one that big. great hunting.
