If you go to Ace Hardware, you should pick up a few bottles of Rooto 100% Lye. Mix up a bottle of the lye in a 5 gallon bucket and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, carefully, w/o getting any of the lye mixture on you, pour it over the gut pile, and then cover that with lime. Trust me, not only will it get rid of the smell, it will dissolve the pile to a puddle of goo in a matter of hours. Works even better if you have a metal 55 gallon drum. Drill several small holes in the bottom, bury the bottom 3-4" of barrel in the ground, and then dump in guts, lye mixture, and cover with lime and a strap lid, and it will all be gone in less than 24-48 hours.
