I don't claim to be an expert by any means, but I think scents are WAAYYYYY over used(that and grunt calls/can calls) by 99% of the people that use them. I think a little used in the right times of the year can be beneficial. A clean/scent free whick hanging on a branch 20 or so yards from your stand is the way I do it. And a squirt or 2 on your boots when you leave the truck

As for what brand? I only use Code Blue, or the Special Golden estrous. Those are the 2 I have had good results with. I will NEVER buy Tinks again. It sucks. I honestly think I have run more game off with that garbage than I have brought in. I have never had so many deer come in spooky/jumpy/nervous, and them old does will get wind of it and stand there and blow at it. Me and my hunting buddy saw it with our own eyes last year at least 4 times spook hogs off. I tried some of the tink's sow in heat in one of my hog traps, and they completely abandoned the trap

Last year I had a bottle so the golden estrous that was like 4 years old. I made a mock scrape on a Sunday, poured that in the scrape, put a camera on it, and checked it next week. I had 7 different bucks, about a dozen does, and 5 different boar hogs come investigate the scrape

When I hunted in GA with Scott, I sprayed Code Blue on bushes as I walked in down this old logging road. I sprayed one squirt about every 20-30 yards. Before I even got settled in the stand I turned around and a buck was running down the road with his nose out, lip curled, grunting every breath bird dogging me where I had just walked

I don't use scent every time I hunt, but it is only Code blue only from now on. I have used tinks 69, buck lure, doe urine, trails end #307, pete rickards, and buck stop, most deer were on red alert, very nervous and ready to bolt. Started useing code blue and every deer that came in were more calm and curious. Could be because most deer scents are a mixture of reg urine, doe in heat urine, and gland Code blue is collected from a single deer.

hmmm, I bought the trails end #307, I have never used anything scent wise so I didnt know what brand to use so maybe ill just go with code blue then sounds like a little more success with the CB, ive read from other guys how they didnt like tinks so I didnt even look at that ...spooking off game is the last thing I want. So use in moderation and dont over do it and should have some success then, I think I can mangae. Well Ill be trying it this weekend, thought about the dragline but just spray every so often seems easier. Thanks for info!!
