muzzleloader is my favorite time of year. My big buck this past season was with my ML
what are you shooting and whats your loads? i love readin about this stuff i just cant get enough, i wish i had stayed in it years ago. the one i'm shooting now is a traditions pursuist lt. 50/209 scoped. have you ever been on modern muzzleloader web site ?
I bought muzzleloaders for my son and I just over 2 years ago, and used them that season, but didn't get anything. Didn't get a chance to go last year, sure do hope I can hit the woods this year. Usually around the end of August I make a couple trips to the range to get sighted in.
I bought some inexpensive, but good shooting guns - Traditions Thunderbolt .50 cal, shooting Hornady 45-240 XTP/Mag sabots with 2 50 grain Pyrodex pellets (100 grains total). I also like the Winchester 209 primers. I don't remember the groups we shot, but with open sights both my son and I could hit the kill zone from 100 yards.
I can't afford the ml I want. So until I can I'm not going to get one.
