You know i just remembered that in NJ they allowed you to get a permit to use hard rubber (kinda like paintball) pellets that were solid rubber to shoot at bears. It really worked on keeping them away.. Between the noise and the blunt force trauma they ran and some stayed away for a while.. It was a shotgun that loaded rubber balls like a rubber slug that didn't kill them just smacked them in the ass with a rubber ball.. Wonder if they would consider this in fl?

We used this in the scout camps to keep the bears away from the kids campsites.

I'm thinking if you got some and used them, you wouldn't have much of an issue. Not like actually shooting one with a bullet. No worries about a dead bear to get you in trouble. Hell, I'd do it. 🙂 I may have "seen that done" a few times up in Alaska to run the grizzlies off the bait stations. Works pretty good.

Hmmm....kinda like pepper spray, but a little more "convincing".

They are illegal in Fl for bears at least that is what I was told. You cannot harm, touch, possibly injure the beasts, but it is OK if they kill you. I could not put barb or razor wire around my feeder pole, or intentionally leave sharp edges. Of course you have to be caught doing what you are doing but discussing it on an open forum is not wise either.
