High winds will knock them over easily. Seeing as it was a plastic housing, I would bet it wasn't that hard of a blow from the tree for it to be knocked off. If it was a bear you should have got several pics of him and I think the whole setup would be on the ground and empty of corn. Once a bear finds out a feeder has corn in it, he will find a way into it.
