Clover/corn food plot Day 8
Thanks for the encouraging posts! Closely following a developing food plot or even a vegetable garden seems to give a me better understanding of what's happening and what can we do different next time. The abundant rain was a problem and now we have been 11 days without rain and the bottom where the clover was planted is as hard as a brick on the top. The little clover plants are beginning to show up. Right next to the clover, it is still plenty wet. Bottom plowed it Monday and was pulling up some very wet, yellow clay in the lower areas! Only tripped the old plows one time on a lighter stump. Always pulling up lighter roots in this field. Got to mow at the church tomorrow so it will be Friday before I can plant the field corn next to the clover.
A little shower would do the clover wonders, but on the other hand a little shower would delay the corn planting as this clay type soil is just pure nasty when it gets wet!
Pictures are of the clover coming up, corn patch being prepared with planted clover in the back ground and one of the many pieces of lighter that I always salvage.

Here comes what :clap I've anticipated the last few months :clap :clap
