The corn is looking good and that is some trophy crab grass. Question...will the deer bed down in an open field of tall grass like that?
Even with the clover a fail the grass looks like great bedding right by food and water sources.
Have you thought abt cutting strips in the grass and leaving some of it for bedding and cover?
On occasion you can see where deer bed in the grass, but if weather permits that part will be replanted with clover by the end of September. There is plenty of cover on 2 sides of the plot, the pond on the north and then planted pines on the south. If the weather doesn't cooperate it might be just what sam03 and Triple Creek Reaper suggest! Oh yeah, it raining again tonight.

Clover/corn food plot Day72
The heavier rains have let up but there are still summer showers. Today is the 7th and it is completely overcast(no sun) and we've had showers the first 4 days, fields are drying enough not to have too much issue with getting stuck. Made a trip to Panama City yesterday and noticed some big corn fields were loosing their green color and sure enough the little patch in the food plot and those near it are also starting to turn brown. All this to say that fall is coming and deer season is closer than it was. It's about time for some of the South Florida boys to show some archery kills from zone A!
Today's picture, when compared to those a few weeks back, show the color change. The ears are mature and need to dry.
Y'all continue to remember the family that Mr.Lolo posted about yesterday. So very sad.
