Thanks! She is a pretty little cur dog. She was the only red one outta the litter....she looks a lot like her mama whom is a pretty good dog. She bays real tight but rarely comes home bleeding. I'm almost finished with a battle against mange with her....on the 5th week of daily ivermectin. Been meaning to get her up to the puppy pen by Green Swamp to get on a couple hogs, but between being busy with school and the rain, I haven't got a chance.

Be careful up there. Somebody put a bad hog in there last year and it killed a very experienced plott I gave a friend of mine. That is why I will not go back anymore. There's NO reason to put a dog killer in a puppy pen. That is a fact.

I hadn't heard about that, thanks for the heads up. That's a pretty awful thing to do and is pretty senseless.
I have a couple buddies who have put their dogs in there without any incident, but they haven't been out there much. Haven't heard of anyone running into a bad hog in there, but I will be cautious.
FLDXT, I'm at about $50 for the ivermectin now and I paid a little more than I should have for the bottle....not too bad when you look at the medicated dips and all the other crap they have out there for mange though.

easier said then done nacho.. trust me. You have to get on top of that hog and get after it man.. You risk shooting a dog and theres too much to go wrong.. Get on top of it hold his head down and stick it.. thats it. If your scared and cant hold it right get help. That hog will get right ass up and turn on you if you dont have it under control, (most of the time it will just run away). Usually when you get there the dogs have it bayed already, then if its big they will send the catch dog to grab it by the neck and then you slowly pull the bay dogs off, and get on top of it and then get off the catch dog.. THEN you do what you have to do. No matter what you have to get close and personal with it if you want to be safe.
