On the way back from a buddy's yesterday, I guess the passenger side door of my truck didn't get shut all the way :oops , and as I accelerated and started turning left to get on the highway, the dog leaned into the door, and the door flew open, dumping the dog into the road. :eek She got on her feet as soon as she hit the ground and then the car behind me rolled her again...guy didn't even slow down :dots . By the time I got the truck stopped and off the road, she was already up and running to me. All she got was some roadrash and a couple broken toenails.....Thank God I wasn't going fast. She and I got real lucky yesterday. Here are the worst of the injuries she sustained, she has some slightly bigger pieces of roadrash on the other side too: again, we got real lucky.
On a more positive note, I got a new cur dog from a buddy, she' bout 14-15 months old, and pretty well started. She hunts out about 150-200 yards without sign and gets rangey when she finds some fresh stuff. She's already got herself a couple little scars so I'd imagine she's at least a little gritty. Time will tell. She handles well, only problem is she is a fighter over food....I'll get that sorted out over the next couple weeks.
Here she is:

Ugly bitch ain't she?
Glad your dog is ok and glad it happened at a slow rate of speed, now for the SOB that hit her and kept going, Sorry people. I like your other gyp, you can send her my way,
glad she's OK. not limping I hope? might be my imagination but that right knee looks a little swollen in 1st photo, try an ice pak if needed. also if you didn't know theres a 325mg aspirin tab coated/buffered with maalox that will help with pain and not tear up their stomach, cuz it digests lower down the tract, called "ascriptin". it works well for my dogs bad knees.
I'm glad she is OK.
