Both went less than 40 yards.

I'm glad you did not say spitfire!

Which G-5's? I looked at the Montecs and wasn't sure if they were any better than the Muzzy 3 blade as far as entrance/exit wound size. The Montecs definitely look more durable, especially the Carbon Steel ones. But, after a total pass thru with the Muzzy, I was looking for something with a larger entrance and exit hole.

I never tried the rage 2 blades but most everyone I know has. I've trailed several shot through the vitals with them and most were recovered within 50 yds and had massive bloodtrails. Even trailed a gut shot 8pt last year about 250 yds and he was pouring a good amount of blood for a gut shot deer. When they hit bone is where they fail as with most expandables I've ever shot or seen. I have tried trailing several more that hit bone and they just don't pentrate and cause enough damage like a fixed blade head imo.

Combine that with the o-ring issues and it's even worse. I believe it just wastes too much energy to open those giant blades upon entrance. I will tell you at 1 time I had 6 of my friends shooting them and only 2 still shoot them now. Most of them went back to shooting fixed blade heads.

2 of the guys shoot the g5 montecs and they love them. They seem like a durable bh but look so tiny for a bh.

Just got back from Ohio, first time using Rage (2) blade. I am happy with performance.
