just back from up in a tree. moving feeder camera and stand. a stand of oaks just inside a 100+acre just cut field with fresh rooting and hogs spotted almost daily. located between swamp and retention pond. only problem was trees were too big (oaks) or too small. getting to old to hang from trees by the harness putting up a hang on stand but need the height to see and have a safer shooting situation as cows are their at times too. man every part of my bod hurts. new loads for the 7mm08 nosler 120 gr flat points (not my first choice but wanted to use them up) good at 100 yds sucked at 200 & 3oo but it was very windy. feeder is app 100 yds from stand but hope to catch em in the woods closer, don't realy want to shoot em under the feeder but will take what I get. Pain meds/coctail shake well soak in hot tub, hopefully I will make it to bed before passing out.
I've seen 5 so far and pretty sure I ran a buck off as I got in the stand an hour ago. I just saw a small yearling without his momma and the rut activity has been picking up with the smaller bucks so I'm hoping for a shot. I let a buck get by here yesterday..

The buck stepped out of the same trail he did the day before, looked around I'm guessing for does (must not have seen the doe 30 yds away from him?), and turned around and walked back into the swamp. I was severely ticked off he wouldn't give me a clear shot again. I quit counting deer but I know I saw over 10 yesterday afternoon. I think all my bigger bucks there are still nocturnal.I'll be back in the stand on Friday!
They are starting to get a little silly. The young bucks are definitely in cruise mode, and they started pawing scrapes heavy last week. M/L should be on fire
Now I have no idea when I'll get back up there. I can't go this weekend, and next week my mom is supposed to be coming home so I will be tied up with getting her settled back in
