Yes, crossbows are legal for anyone to use on all private land. Not legal on wma's

Yes. The serving on the string is heavy for a reason. However you need to keep the rails and strings heavily waxed at all times. They even sell a product called "rail lube"

Since you bought it used, I would recommend taking it to Barnett(They are located over in Tarpon Springs by lake tarpon). Go ahead and let them put a new set of strings on it. Will cost about $30. That one has a tremendous amount of wear on it. Also they can put it under their special light and check for any cracks on the limbs. Sorta give you a fresh start on it. And they will get it zeroed in for you

I am taking mine over there tomorrow for a servicing

Never had to leave one. They usually let you walk back into the shop and stand and BS with the tech while they work on it

It's kinda funny how pricey crossbows have become all of a sudden. With all the hunting show guys shooting them now, and them being legal on private land statewide, I guess they are no longer cheap.

I noticed the same thing. Looking through an archery catalog they had maybe 6 pages of compound bows, but 12 pages of crossbows. Looks like the market will dictate!
