I don't know how many of you guy's have seen this but I just found it in my local paper. This is from the BowTech web site.
Posted: February 20, 2009

On August 7, 2008, BowTech proactively informed the public of a potential product defect with the limbs on one of our products - "The General". While BowTech sincerely regrets any inconvenience this product recall has caused, we hope our valued customers respect our efforts to remedy the situation with full public disclosure and our self-reporting with the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Since the potential product defect was discovered, BowTech has attempted to immediately remedy each problem that has been brought to its attention. BowTech has also voluntarily stopped producing and marketing "The General". The limbs on every "General" bow built between October 1, 2007 and July 17, 2008 (the "2008 General") that were returned to us have been replaced at no cost. We will continue this practice and will make sure that efforts are made to continue the Factory Modification Program for this product. BowTech takes pride in its professional response and will stop at nothing to continue making the finest bow products for the industry's most loyal customers.

As previously noted, you should not draw, or attempt to draw or fire, your "2008 General" until it is determined that this important modification has been performed by an Authorized BowTech Dealer. If you are not the original owner of your "2008 General", and do not know that the modification has been completed, contact any Authorized BowTech Dealer for inspection. Any Authorized BowTech Dealer can perform the inspection and modification at no cost to you. For the name and location of a dealer near you, call 877.447.0293 or visit the dealer locator section at www.bowtecharchery.com/dealers.
